What’s this all about? A new and different website?
Well, I’ll tell you, my friend… Words from here will spill out—as if I’m sitting down with you over coffee. Thinking, encouraging, and speaking about conversation pieces similar to those I have with friends in close physical proximity. Conversations—built upon Biblical foundations.
If you don’t know already…. Words—spoken and unspoken—are life-giving to me.
Years ago, I found myself in the depths of despair. And what breathed life back into me? Words. Specifically God’s Word and the words of others.
God’s Word rewired my brain into the deep truth of who He is. In Him, I found comfort and identity.
Words from books have allowed me to peek into life from another’s eyes and see a whole new perspective—on my own life and the lives of others.
I became a serious Bible student, as well as a student of many other authors.
I fell in love with people.
And I fell in love with the church.
But, to me, life in the church seemed separate from the ordinary day-to-day life. Not that I behaved different ways in different settings. Instead, it was a sense that my job and responsibilities outside the church were not as glorifying to God as those things done within the physical church building.
Then, God helped me to understand that there is good from all facets of life. We can glorify Him in all things we do. Rather it’s cleaning my overly-messy home, sleeping restful beside my sweet husband, teaching a life-altering Bible study, having coffee with my closest friend, eating good food with my family, befriending beyond-difficult people, grieving heartbreaking losses, working in the tiring-yet-rewarding world of education, having fun coloring a picture, or laughing hard at my son’s puns. These things all glorify God….
With this understanding, my life has been radically transformed.
At this moment—on this website—my hope is to give you encouragement built upon “living a purposeful life” glorifying God in all that we do.
The topics may change in the future, in response to the way God continues to shape me into His useful vessel. But for today, I will be faithful—to today.
