“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.” Psalm 29:2 (NIV)
I remember sitting in church years ago and as I glanced across the sanctuary, my full attention was grabbed by this woman in worship during a praise song. I was both amazed and captivated by her beauty. It was not a beauty this world would describe as beautiful. It was a different type of beauty.
A Heavenly Beauty….
One, I had never witnessed before.
In fact, she looked very ordinary in appearance from this world’s viewpoint.
One, may even describe her as boring.
Her hair was a simple style.
There was no makeup on her face to cover the imperfections.
No big, bold, and colorful pieces of jewelry around her neck…. nor did she adorn her wrists and fingers with any such extras.
The clothes that covered her body were colorless and plain.
But even still… there was something so different about her that captivated me.
A Heavenly Beauty….
Yes…. she was not the type of beauty the world describes. Yet, she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
Now you may ask, “What made her so beautiful?”
Well…….
She radiated with a deep-rooted joy, which I had never witnessed before. It exploded from every viewpoint…. physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Just a pure overflow of bliss that caused all her senses to become past awake.….
Yes, she was FULLY ALIVE!!
Her eyes twinkled from the tears that flowed down her rosy cheeks…. tears that dripped like a leaky faucet.
Her face was pointed straight up towards Heaven above.
Her arms were stretched out high above her body.
Her hands were open, but her palms had a slight closing bend in each of them. It was as if she thought maybe, just maybe, she would grab what she was desperate to touch.
She wanted to be ready…. to close her hands tightly just in case the tips of her extended fingers made contact with even the hem of His robe….
To my eyes, it was as if she thought she was seeing Jesus Himself right above her. But this was not an “as if” experience. It was real to her. She was worshiping her Lord, her Savior, her Everything…. and Jesus was right there above her as she worshiped Him in all His glory!
Yes, she saw Jesus and worshiped Him!
I prayed that day and told Jesus I wanted to experience what she had experienced. Thanks to Jesus, I have since that day had such an experience. I hope you have also. If not, but you would like to, just ask like I did. You may be surprised by His gift to you. You may find yourself with your arms stretched high and your fingers extended towards Heaven…. ready to touch the hem of His robe too.
There is no way to describe it other than…. a Heavenly Beauty!
God bless! I love you all!!
